If you are looking for Malay Laksa in Penang, this is the place to go. Its located in Kampung Perlis, Balik Pulau not far from Pulau Betong. To go there, take the road to Pulau Betong. Once you reached the primary school and community hall, turn right into the main road of Kampung Perlis. Laksa Janggus is about 500 meters from the junction.
If you are not good with direction, go to Pulau Betong and ask people around there. You can't missed it. From the large congregation of cars outside the premise, you know you've come to the right place. If I'm not mistaken its open from 2-7pm and close on Wednesday. From me who dengan muka tak malu call himself the laksa expert, Laksa Janggus is simply delicious.

Laksa Telok Kechai lain sikit. Dia ada letak telur rebus dan takde daun pudina. Instead diorang letak daun putat (kalau tak silap lah). Malay laksa in Penang is the Malaynized version of Asam Laksa. And 1 more thing, Laksa Telok Kechai tak letak Otak Udang dan tak masam sangat.
BTW, I'm going back to Penang for a shoot. Again! Kalau ada masa I'm going to Laksa Janggusqiprus

You mean to say dlm laksa janggus ni ada letak daun putat as garnish eh? Laksa teluk kechai tu rasanya ada jugak daun putat, tapi pasai depa shred everything fine, jadi tak bulih nampak daun apa depa letak. My mom call that sampah sarap hehehe...
I belajaq buat laksa from my mom pon masam jugak, tapi tu lah tak letak otak udang.
Adoi la keinginan nak masak laksa membuak2 la ni... but suami saya tak suka laksa yg masam2 ni...
